On Friday night, the DSC men’s soccer team hosted the USC Lancaster Lancers, in what proved to be a lopsided match and easy Homecoming win for the Falcons. Led by freshman forward Piero Leonardi, who scored a brace, the men toped the Lancers 3-0. Freshman defender David Liboyi also scored, just before the half, after receiving a cross in the box from forward Waiss Ezami, after a pass from Leonardi. The Falcons travel to Miami to face Miami Dade College on Saturday, October 17, at 7 pm.

Saturday afternoon, during the Tailgate Party, the women’s soccer team had to overcome a 2-1 deficit at halftime to beat the women Lancers squad 4-2. Clara Fajardo scored two goals, including the first of the game in the fourth minute, and Risako Abe and Erika Webb each added a goal to contribute to their first win since the Eastern Florida State College win (6-0) on September 19. The Lady Falcons face Polk State College at home on Wednesday, October 14, at 7 pm.

The Falcons volleyball team beat Florida Southwestern State College 3-1 inside the Lemerand Center to end the Homecoming weekend. The Falcons carried the first set 25-18, lost a close second set 23-25, and finished the final two sets 25-19 and 25-15 with the play of Yuseiry Ramirez-Terrero (14 kills), Alice Santoro (6 blocks), and Karina Crespo (16 digs and 4 service aces). The Lady Falcons will travel to Gainesville to play against Santa Fe College on Wednesday, October 14, at 6 pm.
