Even though fall in Florida doesn’t look like the charming autumn scenes from “Gilmore Girls”or the immersive scenery from “When Harry Met Sally,”DSC students have their own ways of enjoying the cozy season.
For some students, watching movies or TV shows that capture the autumn essence is enough to feel the vibes. And hey, with Florida finally cooling down and not feeling like a sauna, we can actually enjoy it. You know it’s serious when you walk across campus and hear someone say, “It’s freezing,” even though it’s 64 degrees.
For Venecia Ambriz, a student attending DSC, fall has been the perfect season to rewatch some of her comfort shows.
“I’m in-between a few shows right now like ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ ‘The Originals,’ and ‘Supernatural,’” she said.
Both “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals”dive into the supernatural world of vampires, werewolves, and witches, offering just the right touch of mystery and magic.
“The first time I watched ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Originals’ was in the fall, and it was perfect,” she said.
Charlotte Low, a Quanta Honors student, has also been taking advantage of the season to rewatch one of her favorite fall shows, “Gilmore Girls.”

“I feel like the visuals of Stars Hollow in ‘Gilmore Girls’ really put me in the autumn mood, which is why I choose to watch it in the fall,” Low said.
Liberty Johnson, a fellow Quanta Honors student has also been keeping up with the iconic and fast-talking mother-daughter duo of “Gilmore Girls,” Rory and Lorelai.
“I feel like I’m always drawn to watching ‘Gilmore Girls’ around fall time,” Johnson said. “The connection between Lorelai and Rory also makes the show really special.”

Apart from the cozy feeling of fall, some DSC students are diving into the spookier side of the season.
Student Amelia Coronado has been getting into a scarier mood this season by watching some classic horror movies.
“I’ve been rewatching all the ‘Scream’ movies, the first one is my favorite,” Coronado said. “I also really like the classic horror movies like ‘Nightmare on Elm Street.’”

With the holiday season closely approaching, students are also looking forward to movies that capture the spirit of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
“I am looking forward to watching some of the programming shows you expect to see around Thanksgiving and Christmas you know like the Hallmark movies,” Johnson said.
