Whether you are a person who just loves to get out and exercise, or you are a long-time runner that has been running competitively for years, running is for nearly everyone. The Spring-to-Spring Trail, 25 minutes away from the heart of Daytona Beach, is a local gem for anyone looking to get out and run. Due to its location, amenities, and layout, the Spring-to-Spring Trail located near Blue Springs State Park is a hot spot for local runners.
Out with the Old, in with the New!
When you first hop on the Spring-to-Spring Trail, you’ll realize that it has much more to offer than your same old loop around your neighborhood. The layout of this trail makes this a one-of-a-kind place. The perfectly paved and marked concrete helps to separate one side of the trail from another. To make your experience even easier, they have the lines marked as dotted or shaded so you know whether it’s safe or not to pass others. Another feature is that many parts of the trail are draped by beautiful trees to keep you covered from the hot Florida sun that so many local runners wish to avoid. If you need a break, the Spring-to-Spring Trail offers benches every so often so that you can take a break from exercising and take in the views.
Not your Ordinary Trail
The Spring-to-Spring Trail is more than a regular running path. It provides amenities that can help make your exercise experience the best possible. When it comes to distance running, especially for women, bathrooms are essential. The multiple trail heads of the Spring-to-Spring Trail can lead you to bathrooms—yes real bathrooms and not just Porta-Potties. The trail also provides water fountains, benches, waste bags for the people that run with dogs, and trash cans. You don’t notice these things, but when you need them most they come in handy. If your watch or phone dies, along with your map or location, you’re still in luck. The trail has signs that give directions including where to go and how far you are.
Say Cheese!
Being a runner on the Spring-to-Spring Trail makes you feel rewarded. You become so focused on the scenery and location you forget about running. With five beautiful trailheads located throughout the trail, you have endless jaw-dropping views. Some of the best spots include Gemini Springs, DeLeon Springs, and the well-known Blue Springs. The sunsets you will see while running on this trail make you want to stop whatever you’re doing and take a picture to post on your Snapchat. The clear blue water at Gemini Springs mixed with the chilly, natural lazy river at Blue Springs makes this running trail an ideal distance running destination for all.
