The ATC campus has a lot of labs with equipment that the club officers wanted to use more, since the students normally only use these tools for class projects and assignments. The club also wanted to be able to work together with others more and help each other learn through group projects, these were the main reasons behind the creation of the Technology Club.
The club has several advisors who help them with everything that goes into keeping the club running, including Professor John Vilkinofsky, Dr. Ronald Eaglin, and Professor Anindya Paul.
The club already has many ideas, and is working on a multitude of projects, but the main new thing they hope to implement is doing group exercises in which they go out to companies and shadow for a day. “I want to nurture everybody’s passion,” Club President Sean Le said.
“Different perspectives are key for us so we’re trying to encompass as many people as possible,” said Club Secretary Noah Maynard. The club officers show this as they all specialize in different areas to help each other and club members.
“Clubs aren’t just for fun, yes they are fun, but they have a lot of long-term helpful implications.” Unofficial advisor Faith Bryant said. “So, students who are extremely focused on their academics may look at clubs like they do not have time for it, but it’s a very useful way to spend your time.”
The club offers two particularly important tools to students: a collective mind, where if someone has a question or is stuck on something they can put it into their discord server and get at least 40 people willing to help any time of day and an active social environment.
“My main motto is that whatever you are interested in, just let us know and we’ll try to make it work,” Le said.
