This year’s Music Industry club is better than ever with new events, goals and people involved. Former Music Industry club member, Julien Collins, has taken over as president since last year’s president graduated from the program.
There are also new positions that have been filled, including: Vice President- Sam Abraham, Treasurer- Cole Sirbu and Secretary- Gabe Stevanus. Each member contributes different things to the club, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
“I want us to be a model for how everyone should be when joining a club” Collins said, “The whole point is to get involved and do the extra stuff that should be done.”
Collins has been in the music program and club since Fall 2021 and has two semesters left at Daytona State. He personally has been working on a few new songs of his own, as well as producing his own music.
People were gravitated towards the Music Industry club because of their love for goodie bags and music. Not realizing that they would be joining not just a club, but a family and safe learning environment.
Collins’ goals for the year are to set a stable foundation for the club as well as to be involved in the main campus and community more.
“I want to leave a foundation, so that when the next president comes, he or she will have something to go off of and keep building it and make it better than the previous year,” Collins said.
The club plans to attend the Welcome Back events, and to host their own events later in the semester. Select students will be playing at Caribbean Jack’s in Daytona Beach, every third Tuesday of the month to help get their names and music out there.
The music industry club will also be continuing their jam sessions, open mics and podcasts which can be accessed from their social media accounts.

Way to go M.I.C. Club!!! It’s so awesome to see these students doing something positive and worthwhile, and leaving a legacy for those who follow in the program! Daytona State College has an incredible music engineering program, their staff and students really deserved this great article!
